Indeed, the two had professed their vows of love, but in the campus, Tokiya remained his still-like demeanor, hardly showing any emotions... moreover affections to the svelte young woman. But deep within, Fuuko knew his love for her was still the same as the day he kissed her.
We would be together forever....
Fuuko thought jauntily, as she parted herself from the arms lanky young adult. Looking tenderly into his radiant blue eyes, she felt her heart soaring into the skies, spreading the wings like an eagle. Tokiya, too, searched his soul in her sparkling eyes. With a miniature grin, he brushed the purple fringe that covered her eyes.
"See you later, Fuuko. You know where, don't you?"
With that, Fuuko eyes crinkled with a large, mirthful grin. He bent down, placed his warm hands over her bare arms and gave a small kiss on her smooth cheeks, and turned away, heading his respective lecture room. Fuuko, face flushing with bliss, whistled away as she entered the auditorium. There, in the 4th row from the front, stood a bronze coloured haired girl, wearing a loose pink blouse with a red tartan skirt, who was waving her hands wildly in the air. With a sure smile, she sauntered briskly towards her, and sat beside her, with her crimson eyes beaming on her face. As she sat, she eased away the crinkles away from her navy pleated skirt. Her slightly tanned skin glimmered softly with her sleeveless tight black turtle-neck clothe. Hikaru's porcelain fingers ran over her luxurious flow of copper as she spoke in a melodious tone,
"Have you heard? Fuuko? There will be a new student joining us!!"
Fuuko's brilliant eyes lit up with surprise, with her violet brows shot =upward on her forehead.
The relationship between Hikaru and Fuuko had not deteriorated or lessen after the heavy misunderstanding due to the entanglements of love. Instead, after the confusion and the mixed feelings, their bond was tugged even closer. Hikaru and Tokiya remained friendly, treating each other as siblings.
Fuuko's cerulean eyes perked and narrowed her eyes a little, signaling her to go on. Hikaru eyes sparkled mischievously as she continued, as words shot out from her mouth as rapid as a rocket.
Fuuko gave an exasperated smirk and ruffled her crop of brown hair. Chuckling good-naturedly, she spoke,
"Slow down, Sadamoto! I can't catch a single point what were you saying!"
With a gleeful grin, she apologised, and inhaled deeply.
"Well, i heard that there's a new student from England..."
"Settle down, everybody!"
Professor Takada's gruffly voice boomed through the medium-sized auditorium, and soon the din made by the undergraduates simmered down and in no time, silence reigned the atmosphere. With a breathy sigh, he shifted the large, ebony plastic glasses perched on his bridge of his bony nose. Shoving his pale hands into the pockets, he continued, with his voice thundering into everyone's ears.
"We are pleased to have another fellow mate with us today..."
"See? I told you!"
Hikaru hissed shrilly, turning her face towards her friend. Professor Takada stopped abruptly, clearing his throat deliberately and nosily, then staring at her with small black pupils. Face reddening, Hikaru covered her scarlet face with her hands. Fuuko just shook her head, rolling her blue eyes away from the redden dame. Easing the furrowed frown by his grey brows, he continued, with his white, knobby hands clapping together furiously.
"Please welcome Matthew.Yuichi.Micheals!"
With that,
a tall, dark-haired entered the room, meeting everybody with his mystic
bronze eyes. Everyone... especially the young women held their breath.
The new youth was indeed good-looking. His feathery, tree-bark coloured
hair was swept towards the left, with his long fringe covering dreamboat
dark eyes that sparkled with the lights of the room. He was wearing a loose,
checked buttoned shirt, leaving the first 2 unbuttoned, revealing a navy
T-shirt beneath, with dark blue denim jeans
which balanced
well with his tops. With his fair right hand a distance away from
his broad shoulders, he waved, giving a buoyant smile formed in his cheeks,
slightly dashed with speckles of faint freckles.
"Hello, my name is Matthew.Yuichi.Micheals. Just call me Yuichi!"
His voice was mellow and soothing, which matched perfectly with his handsome, fine features. Fuuko felt a tinge of hotness racing through her cheeks. Knowing it, she scolded herself silently.
What am i thinking about?
Not only Fuuko, who was caught starry-eyed by this gorgeous, friendly newcomer, the female undergraduates were staring at him, with their heart throbbing madly. Hikaru gave a shy giggle as she fidgeted in her seat. The middle-aged stout man's lips curled downwards as he looked at the expression of the female undergraduates. All of them bore the same features (except for Fuuko, who was trying to restrain it), with their cheeks flushing in a gleaming tone of crimson, with their eyes sparkling with admiration.
The new undergraduate returned them with an embarrassed smile.
"Now now, we must start work immediately," Professor Takada said in a flustered and vexed tone, rapping his metal pointer on the large wooden table next to him. The crowd moaned, as they shuffled and fidgeted, taking out their notes and stationery. Meanwhile, the heavy, highly educated man drummed his ashen fingers on his bony chin.
"Micheals, go and sit with Kirisawa. She'll not only help you in this subject, and will guide you around the school campus."
Ocean eyes widened into large saucers as her long index finger pointed to herself in disbelief. Yuichi, figuring who was Fuuko, met her with his smoldering eyes, smiling gaily.
"Professor?"
"Kirisawa, you are to show our guest around. I believe this is a simple job for you." The strict lecturer snapped rather curtly, ignoring Fuuko's replies. Fuuko's head bobbed slowly, as Yuichi grinned broadly, and made his way towards Fuuko and Hikaru's bench. As he sat down beside her, Fuuko felt her heart running in an unbelievable speed. To her utmost surprise, his head leaned towards hers, and with a soft whisper,
"I'm sorry to cause you trouble, Kirisawa-san."
Fuuko's beautiful face met his, who was wearing a crinkled smile on his face. Amazed by his politeness and candid behavior, Fuuko couldn't help but smirk. The restrains tying around her snapped away gently.
"Nah. That was nothing. And Yuichi?"
Yuichi raised his brown eyebrows, rather amazed by her straight-forwardness, as he jerked his head slightly, gesturing her to continue. A bright, jovial grin greeted him.
"Just call me Fuuko."
----
"And this is the cafeteria..." Fuuko spoke in a clear voice, as she pointed towards the large eating court. Yuichi nodded his head rythemically, as he placed his slightly tanned hands behind his head. He sighed as his brilliant eyes raked the surroundings. Fuuko suddenly spun around, causing him to halt in his spot.
"What's it?"
Fuuko gave a loop-sided grin as she breathed in deeply, folding her arms in front of her chest.
"Boring eh? I mean this university. Absolutely nothing of interest."
Yuichi's bushy eyebrows were arched with amazement. She had guessed his sentiments. With a smirk, he nodded his head, and made his way onto a wooden bench nearby in the hallway. Fuuko followed him after, and sat beside him. With his euphonic voice, he spoke,
"Say, we haven't really introduced ourselves."
Fuuko's lips curled upwards, revealing her set of teeth as she twirled her long side-hair with her finger.
"Right... let me start then... why did you transfer here? You came from England, don't you?"
"Oxford, to be exact." His eyes twinkled. "I came here due to my family's will of migrating into Japan."
Strings of memories of that fateful day rushed into her mind again. Tokiya's anxious and truthful words and voice had touched her heart, allowing herself to give her heart another chance by staying back. She had almost did a dreadful mistake, and was relieved that she had not left Canada with her mother.
"Why did they want to migrate here? I mean England is a wonderful place to live in... isn't?"
Fuuko inquired, recieveing Yuichi's pensive expression as he shifted his eyes to the top.
"I don't really know how to put it... but my parents are tired to live in that hectic society. All this corruption... litter and polluted air, i had enough. Besides, i'm a partial Japanese, too!"
With that, he added a honeyed smile, as he leaned his back onto the hard surface of the bench. Fuuko's eyes widened a little, trying to understand his comments.
"Partially Japanese? Is that why your name..."
Yuichi laughed heartily, nodding his head with enthusiasm. He closed his =eyelids as he uttered,
"I'm not a... how do you put it... 'pure' British. My father is English and my mother is a Japanese. I'm kinda like... an Eurasian. That's why my middle name is Japanese, and the first and last are named after my dad."
No wonder he looked so beautiful... a mix with European beauty and Asian soft features... Fuuko thought quietly, with a hue of red tracing her cheeks. She had to admit, he had somehow, pared... no, won over Tokiya's fine features. Tokiya held a grim, sullen beauty, but Yuichi was a bit like Recca but was much more mature, with his face full of laughter and hope, that shone brightly with his inner radiance.
What am i thinking about... again? Kirisawa!!? Fuuko scolded herself mentally.
"Fuuko! There you are!"
A familiar voice called out from the hallway, earning a surprised expression from the lanky young adult sitting beside her.
"Mikagami?"
His fine eyebrows were furrowed, as he spoke rather softly, but was firm.
"Where were you? I thought you'll meet me at the stone bench? And... who are you?"
Tokiya's cerulean eyes fixed squarely onto the stranger. He couldn't understand why his heart suddenly thumped heavily all of the sudden. He felt his heart turning stonier as gazed his bue eyes into his warm earth ones. Brushing aside his cold attitude, Yuichi stood up and stuck his hands out, grinning.
"My name is Matthew.Yuichi.Micheals. Pleased to meet you."
Tokiya fell his gaze onto his hand. He said his name rather curtly, tinged with his usual icy tone. He shrugged, and shook his hand weakly and recoiled back hastily. Somehow, Tokiya felt... small towards this stranger. As he studied him acutely, he admited unwillingly under his breath.
Yuichi was indeed handsome. With his soft looking eyes and velvetly chocolate hair, he could melt anyone's heart.
Anyone...
Tokiya narrowed his vivid oceanic eyes with a dubious expression, with that sudden thought ringing in his ears.
Yuichi frowned a little, upset by his unsociable demeanor. Fuuko, however, took no notice of Tokiya's usual behavior. She stood up from the wooden bench, as she looked at her boyfriend.
"I'm sorry, Ice Boy!! Professor Takada wanted me to show our new student around... so i didn't make my way to our place immediately."
Tokiya's grim features eased a little. Tokiya could be reserved and unfriendly, but he was a rational and reasonable young adult. His steel like face broke into a small smile. Fuuko smiled back too. She turned her adoring gaze from him to her new-found friend.
"Well, Yuichi, i need to go now. If you need any of my help, just tell me. Okay?"
The lean Eurasian nodded his head understandingly, as Fuuko walked briskly to the fair man's side. Exchanging farewells, both of them turned their backs from him, and walked away.
As they walked towards the exit of the university, Tokiya somehow felt a tug in his heart. He felt intimidated... and strange. As he walked, his eyes were still, narrowed with suspicion.
Fuuko, sensing his weird expression, smiled. She leaned forward and gave a small, tender kiss on his lips. Tokiya gave her a questionable look. With a grin, she tapped his nose lightly with her finger.
"You looked kind of stressed. Did Professor Aida give you a hard time? If he did, don't hesitate to use your Ensui!"
Tokiya couldn't help but chuckled, which relaxed his taut expression. Pulling her closer, they strolled into their usual eating place. Seeing her vivacious smile and hearing her words, Tokiya relaxed and brushed aside his dubious thoughts, as he ran his fingers into her velvet hair. Fuuko, too, placed her head onto his broad shoulders. Nodding his head slightly, he gave a small smile, but full of certainity and confidence as his piercing blue eyes fell upon the girl who held a vivacious, dynamic character.
It's just a wrong perception. Fuuko wouldn't be swayed so easily...
